Destroying Akha Culture - Paul Vernon and Lori Crouch Vernon - The Vernon Journal
If Paul and Lori Vernon think we will ever give up until they leave Thailand, they are sorely sorely mistaken.

"MissionLeaks"
New pictures of Paul and Lori's house in the Akha village where they live with their kids and Akha "maid". See the wonderful financial disparity in this village, these are the pictures that Paul and Lori Vernon don't dare publish to facebook or to their website http://www.vernonjournal.com. We will have pictures of their vehicle soon too as we expose the secrets these deceptive and destructive missionaries keep hidden from their donors.

This folder is dedicated to exposing the ethnocide that Paul Vernon and Lori Vernon are helping perpetrate on the Akha people in cooperation with Ajay of Akha Outreach Foundation in Chiangrai Thailand. While claiming that the Akha Outreach Foundation is non-denominational, in fact the back ground is Church of God, Foursquare, etc. The only denomination it doesn't allow is the race and culture of the Akha people.

Do your part to help stop this destruction against the Akha. Donate, Volunteer, Write, Publish, FB, Twitter, or any other ideas. Post comments on the vernonjournal.com.

If you have any doubt about what Paul and Lori are up to as missionaries among the Akha then read the following article by Zoltan Grossman: Return to Indian Country, The Global War on Tribes. http://www.counterpunch.org/grossman04132010.html

I quote: "Drinnon concluded, 'œIn each and every West, place itself was infinitely less important than what the white settlers brought in their heads and hearts to that particular place. At each magic margin, their metaphysics of Indian-hating underwent a seemingly confirmatory ˜perennial rebirth. Rooted in fears and prejudices buried deep in the Western psyche, their metaphysics became a time-tested doctrine, an ideology, and an integral component of U.S. nationalism. All along, the obverse of Indian-hating had been the metaphysics of empire-building.Winning the West amounted to no less than winning the world (pp. 463-65)."

And again: "Drinnon concluded, œIn each and every West, place itself was infinitely less important than what the white settlers brought in their heads and hearts to that particular place. At each magic margin, their metaphysics of Indian-hating underwent a seemingly confirmatory ˜perennial rebirth.Rooted in fears and prejudices buried deep in the Western psyche, their metaphysics became a time-tested doctrine, an ideology, and an integral component of U.S. nationalism. All along, the obverse of Indian-hating had been the metaphysics of empire-building.Winning the West amounted to no less than winning the world (pp. 463-65)."

To keep in mind how all this works, consider that most all of the missions in north Thailand despite their minor differences, agree that it is ok to take Akha children to keep themselves afloat. Thus they perpetuate that the Akha are still without rights, not even rights from the missions. But in the case of Paul and Lori we need to ad that Ajay and Yot are the two brothers who stood by the Paul W. Lewis sterilization project. They got rewarded. Yot runs the Lewis project DAPA. Ajay runs Akha Outreach. And Paul and Lori work for Ajay. The Lewis dynasty continues, with the physical and cultural destruction of the Akha village by village. No longer independent villages to themselves, the elder leadership is removed and a pastor is installed, who runs and taxes the village for the mission headquarters back in Denver. Now is that American global empire or what?

To see Paul W. Lewis and how he sterilized the Akha you can read his thesis for yourself here:

This story is very closely related to the story of the Idaho missionaries taking children away from their families and claiming they were orphans when they are not. Ajay and Akha Outreach are deeply involved in this twisted practice. How much of Akha culture will be destroyed and how many children will be taken before these people are shut down?

Its very nice they have a new baby. But wouldn't it be nice if they told you what the Thais do to Akha women who have babies? Try forced vaccinations (if you want an ID card for your baby) of the Tetanus Toxoid vaccine which causes many spontaneous miscarriages late term, or how about that forced sterilization right after she has a child? Why aren't any of these details written on the VernonJournal.com website?

Here is a quote off the VernonJournal.com website illustrating how nothing about the Akha is good enough for Paul and Lori:"There are a number of Akha cds existing today, but they generally follow the tendency of the region to go with a Karaoke-style format (lead singer, 5 locations, dreamy superstar poses, band in background scattered throughout a field, etc.). While we are accustomed to these productions, and have even grown to enjoy them, the goal for this album is to keep the focus away from the musicians and really stress worship." Yeah, don't let being Akha get in the way! And they call this "inculturalization"?

Got any information for this page, send it. We will publish it. Invite Paul and Lori to leave Thailand.
We are currently seeking photos of Paul and Lori's house in the Akha village where they work, Identifying road and driveway directions to this village.

Note use of words "orphans" in this blog. Also note that a few missionaries from Idaho who misused the word "orphans" while in Haiti ended up in jail.
