Paul and Lori Vernon's Castle in an Akha village:
Located in an Akha village in Doi Maesalong "saving" Akha culture, "getting to know" Akha culture.
Obviously Jesus loves Paul and Lori more than the Akha living nearby who have been there much longer but don't have this.

Take the time to pay Paul and Lori a visit and "thank" them for how wonderfully they are helping the Akha, oh, sorry, I mean THEMSELVES. This village was gathered from other villages and put on land paid for by church donors, the Akha were traditional at the time of the move, but then shortly after the move Ajay destroyed their swing, gate and all cultural reference points. Villagers said they "would be hit" if they talked about it.

1. Note house this house stands out in the village, this wealth compared to the ID card situation the villagers have, the income disparity, and the "Top Down" "Lords of the Poor" situation we have here. No wonder the old pastor wants to come back, he sees what kind of preferential wealth can be gathered and feels he is missing the opportunity.

2. Village sign says "Save Aka Culture". ???? Save What??? Looks like "SAVE MISSIONARY CULTURE!"

1. Ah, the "house of god". Apparently Paul and Lori are the "gods" in this village who get worshipped and "God" couldn't cut the mustard and got this bamboo bit. The message is clear to the Akha, wealth goes first to missionaries.
