Has been a while since I have updated this section.
Our current work is focused on expanding our network in the Akha villages of China, Laos and Myanmar. This includes our ongoing work to keep our Akha text project moving forward. Our work at the UN to pursue the case of the confiscated land at Hooh Yoh Akha and Pah Nmm Akha villages (Thailand) is ongoing. Another one of our goals is to continually find documents on the Akha, evaluate them and place some of them on this site as long as they have merit. We hope this site continues to be a reference point and research destination for people interested in the lives of the Akha people.

Part of our work in the US is related to increasing awareness about the Akha people. The Ride for Freedom was one such effort that we have completed that helped spread the word about the Akha to everyday Americans. The hundreds of videos from that journey that took 476 days now have hundreds of thousands of views on youtube. See

There is much more that we need to get done. There are books to finish publishing, other books to republish, the completion of Akha Journal 3 and The Ride for Freedom book. Our work in SE Asia is complicated by the numerous countries we have to work in, security issues and the cost of training and retaining writers and researchers. We move our projects forward as we have the funds to do so.
