Chapter 37: The US Presence in Thailand

The US presence in Thailand

The human rights abuses that the Akha experience in Thailand can not be viewed without taking note of the US presence in Thailand, from the Vietnam war to the old missionaries, and the ongoing mission, military and marketplace relationships that the US carries on with.

Why does so little information about the Ahka get out to the western world, past the encirclment that the US holds on the region? Is it just an accident?
