Akha Chronicles
Book 1: Maesai
Chapter 29: ID Cards

ID Cards

ID cards were a way in which the Thai authorities could hold the hilltribe prisoners and abuse them. Stopping them at checkpoints, taking money and sending them to jail.

While many countries commented on the situation, ID cards for the the Akha and other mountain people still were not being provided in a just fashion.
