Akha Chronicles Dangerous Deceptions As an introduction to the politial realities of Akha life
it is helpful to know what those in the field are saying about the Akha, what disinformation they are putting out, to fool
the public into not knowing what is really going on so that the profiteers
can continue what they are doing to the Akha which
is exploitation. Just a few words work good
to start off. Slash and burn. Environmental destruction. Development. Selling
their Daughters, drug use, uneducated, primitive, demon worshippers. All these words were used
carefully from government officials, to tourists, to missionaries to writers
to create false impressions of who the Akha were
and what was happening to them, making it that much more difficult for a
