Missionary Update 2006

Missionaries Cover up the Killings

US missionaries do not tell their donors that the US Drug War and other US policies bring great hardship, suffering and DEATH to the Akha people. The Akha suffer as a result of this brutal, evil policy of the US Government. The US has long looked the other way while funding the Drug War. If you do not know this, you are obligated to educate yourself. Why do missionaries ignore these facts while asking their donors for money to help the "impoverished Akha"? Their own government is destroying the Akha and they are abetting the process. Possibly they feel it is "ok" as long as they get converts?

OMF runs the websites above, we have asked them to take these sites down or change them.
The following link material still lists the Akha as "Demon Worshipers":

"sacrifices are offered to the ancestors and to the demons whose paraphernalia also clutters the ancestor altar."

OMF Working in Laos
The Akha are some of the most spiritually oppressed groups in the region and are socially looked down on by the Thai, Lao and many other tribal groups. Their main religion is animism combined with ancestor worship. The Akha have the highest incidence of AIDS of all the tribal groups in Thailand because of their very immoral lifestyles and high rates of prostitution. In Laos the average death rate is in the mid-40s because the Akha live in such geographically isolated areas with little access to health care. Furthermore, making sacrifices to spirits keeps them very poor and encourages unhealthy lifestyles (e.g. infrequent washing).
Naturally we find this quite offensive

Paul and Lori

Lori and Paul Vernon Destroy Akha Culture
Posing as a missionary, Paul was actually asked to go to Thailand for Alliance Development Services, and is looking to do development in the area of lands where the Akha villages are located according to his taped discussion. Human rights are very important when it comes to land, and destroying culture is one good way to weaken a people's capacity for holding onto the land that is theirs.
Lori and Paul say they were only "living" in the village and that they are being persecuted for destroying other people's culture and religion.

The missionaries such as Ajay, Nancy, Yot, Paul and Lori say that they are not destroying Akha culture. The swing was there, and now its gone, as are the Akha gates. This year this village did not have a Swing Festival. Yot from Dapa says that the swing is very important to Akha culture, he even has it in the Dapa logo.
Paul and Lori would not say what was wrong with the swing or the gates or who had said they should be taken down.
The Akha swings and gates are central to Akha life and culture. The missions have taken them down at every opportunity to clinch the destruction of Akha identity and way of life.
Paul and Lori Vernon wrote us an email and asked us not to publicize this on this website.
On their website Paul and Lori say they are "learning about Akha culture". But the culture in the village is being destroyed while they are there. How will they learn about Akha culture?

Camillian Social Center Chiangrai

Camillian Social Center Chiangrai Takes Away the Akha Children

The Camillian Social Center north of Chiangrai has taken more than 100 Akha children whom the priest claims never miss their parents.
The priest says there are problems of sexual abuse.
Just the same, it all seems very lucrative.
Because we didn't have a wide enough angle lense we could not get all of the buildings of Camillian Social Center Chiangrai in the picture, but the land hold and the money invested is vast.

No one can explain to us what kind of liberation theology this money would persent to the Akha if invested in their villages to protect unified families. To help them invest in perma culture, in clean water, in food and education at the village level. Jesus taught, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We don't think this means take away their children and build a fantastically costly compound to cage them in.
Camillian Social Center is supported directly from the Vatican.

Pat and Deb's River of Money Mission

This is Pat and Deb's "river of money" mission. We ask our activist friends to write them and request how it is they get all the money for such fancy digs while helping the poor mountain people?

Check out this link. What a splendid palace these kids have built for Pat and Deb. I wonder what the kid's parent's places look like. Or as Pat calls it, "sleeping on a dirt floor".
Kids Build Pat and Deb a Palace
Are they not suppose to live more careful lives than this and spend the money to help protect the rights and welfare of these people?
This is an expensive house, by any standard, and certainly by Thai or Akha standards.
Meanwhile the Akha and other mountain people starve because the Thais have taken away their rice lands.
www.patdebthailand.org
email: rolthai@loxinfo.co.th

More good stuff, look what you get for helping poor Akha. Pat and Deb can sure thank god there is a lot of suffering Akha around to make them comfortable.
So isn't anyone suspicious? Doesn't anyone go around and look at the quantities of dollars that are freely flowing? What could be the source of all this money? Well, seems maybe when you steal people's kids and become a plantation owner, lynch the dads, do what you want with the kids, take the land, brainwash the children, become an American Indian Residential School, then you can do just about anything.
Look at Pat and Deb's mansion. Nice place, living like kings. Couldn't live like this in the US with a bunch of slaves, so they come here for slaves and plantations, yup, sometimes you can get the boy off the plantation but you can't get the plantation out of the boy. Now Pat wants money to build a guest house, buy more land. Toy and Home of the Open Heart, boy, like tics on a dog, all with someone else's children.

Hanky Panky Religion

Video Documentary On Mission Sexploitation In Thailand Coming To Europe TV!

Too bad about the suffering Ahka when you can have money like this. Ajay does real good for himself. All told, millions of dollars come in for these missionaries who claim they are there to help the Akha.

Just think of all the Akha farmland this would buy, fruit trees, coffee, self sufficiency rather than dependency. To say nothing of human rights and legal representation and land rights. Hey, if you can grow food, why would you need the mission?
Sexual exploitation at mission boarding schools is common, feeding on itself to "reward" new pastors for going out to convert new villages.
Sexual abuse at mission boarding schools has prevailed for years, girls afraid to be in the classes or stay in the hostel's.
Picture of Ajay:

Such information was suppressed as mission properties were held in individual's names, and they continued to be related to senior missionaries. Senior funders and staff at Dapa and House of Grace covered up for the sexual abuse of THEIR administrators who continue to be funded by churches and missionaries. Staff at Akha Outreach Foundation are aware of these situations and continue to keep silent.
House of Grace
Administrators loan money to the families of "certain" girls and then engage in sex acts with that girl. Afterwards they tell the girl if she says anything to anyone, they will require that the farm "loan" now be repaid by her parents. So the girl keeps silent.
Testimony by staff who worked with mission aministrators took it for granted that the administrators would continue to demand 'sexual favors' from underage girls within these confines. The abuse is not limited to girls.

Picture of Yot Kukaewkasem, the older brother who runs DAPA:
People who have a DOCUMENTED history of sexual mis-conduct with underage children in the mission hostels should not continue to be funded, employed and protected by the American mission organizations.

The Luka Case

Luka Assaults Tourist: Tourist Files Assault Case with Thai Foreign Ministry. Judge in home country will assist in preparing papers for the case.
"Without a Gate", without a brain. Tourist stunned by assault in Chiangrai and having to flee Thailand.
Children held in Luka "prison camp" dorms have no room to live or study, investigation shows, children just a cash cow.
Paul W. Lewis to stay at Luka's second fancy house for his last trip to Thailand, father of forced sterilizations in Thailand.

Latest:
Luka pays off numerous cops to roust a foreign tourist investigating his wealth.
Luka is an Akha man who made it rich by selling out the Akha people to the western missions, helping to destroy their culture. His father helped Paul Lewis sterilize a lot of Akha women the story goes.
Nice houses, nice cars, Luka sold out to materialism, so when he gets caught by a tourist driving around town in his fancy car he threatens him lest the story get out.
All the money intended to help Akhas has gone to making Luka rich.
Thai Police advise tourist by phone: "Luka wants to assasinate you, you should not stay here."

Bethel Bible Takes Away a Lot of Children

Bethel Bible Institute south of Maesai takes a lot of children too. NO supervision, just take away a lot of Akha kids, because you can.
Rumors fly that missions such as this one near the Thai Myanmar border, only a 100 miles from China, are trafficking Akha girls to China where there is a "wife shortage crisis". People at very high levels help with the trafficking and girls in supposed christian safe houses are actually being sold into slavery like Joseph.
There is no oversite of these missions which confiscate Akha children.
Home of the open Heart

The Home of the Open Heart in Chiangrai says that it is a home for HIV children, when in fact it doesn't have any HIV positive children.
This is a fantastic money raising hoax to get donors to give to "save the babies". Of course you have to have babies around, so YWAM arranges to take babies away from mothers at the Chiangrai Prison.
The Connections:
Home of the Open Heart is a YWAM organization.
Vern's Eden House Children's Home is a YWAM organization.
Zion www.zcct.com is related to Vern's project.

Zion Child Care Trust
Reports from Thai police state that this is a corrupt practice to take away babies from prison mothers in order to get money. Police say that corrupt Chiangrai prison officials were in on this scheme. No doubt there are poor children in Thailand, but the way in which scores of westerners gain money and compounds in this fashion is shameful.
What difference does it make if you sacrifice a "little truth" to take the money of the people? The people aren't smart enough to care, busy eating up everything in their own lives, and maybe they'll get one of the babies? And further, what difference does it make, since they don't know?
Truth in advertising doesn't count when you are "doin it for da Lord"?
Since donations may be paid for by US Postal service which covers mail fraud, this is a federal crime. YWAM has protected non profit religious status in the US.
