The children at the center are mostly boys. The center has a huge amount of money to spend on buildings and facilities. The people at the center claim that they help the Akha because they are poor. But they also raise large amounts of money by citing the poverty of the Akha. They do not tell their donors that this much money could make many Akha families, many Akha villages economically independent if they were to get agricultural help at the village level. We also hear rumors of sexual abuse at this mission. We oppose situations like this, where numerous people are employed, huge amounts of money are gathered, and institutions are built on a money mill that runs on Akha children. The children in whose name money is raised, are then sent out the door, the Italian priest keeps the money, his wealth grows, but the children are left on their own. A money pump. Without the exploited Akha children, none of this would be possible.
