Big Roof Mission

On the road to Thaton, north side of highway after you cross the ridge. Built by an Australian in an Akha village which was Catholic. The Catholic church is small and humble, there at least 12 years. The protestant church is huge, massive, like a space ship parked in the village, you can see the structure from the road very easily.

Besides taking the village over, at least half, to make it protestant, there is the impression that a domineering point was being made, some great temple, wanting to own the whole region. While a huge amount of money can be spent on these repetitive churches, just a few meters or kilometers away, very little concern is given to the health or human rights of the impoverished villagers. The villagers are there to serve the church which is there to serve someone's ego.
