To OMF Re the American Genocide against the Akha
Jim:
I noted with interest that the OMF prayer journals talk
about prosyletizing activity in Laos, which of course is
illegal.
But that is not so much what concerns me as the
combination of the content of the "Religion" section on
the OMF website and the content of the prayer calender,
when the realities of US (as in collective American)
policies in Laos have been no less than specific genocide,
not only against the Akha but others as well.
This genocide has been going on for at least 5 years, if
we don't count all the bombs that are left over before
that from the Vietnam war.
But for OMF to talk about demon worship, burning items
from Akha homes, when US driven forced relocations of up
to 65,000 people have resulted in mass death and
starvation, is beyond shameful.
This is not the Gospel of Christ, no matter what you want
to call it.
It is not enough to say that OMF did not do the
relocations, OMF mentions nothing of these events on their
website. The Akha have told me for years that the missions
very carefully manage the information the present about
the Akha to justify what the missions do. They could not
have said a bigger truth.
All the supporting international reports citing the
American Genocide against the Akha in Laos are on our
site.
The people needing conversion are not mentioned, only
shown as the saviours of the Akha, not the murderers they
are.
We will have pics and video for the world to see the story
OMF doesn't tell in its prayer journals.
