Don’t plan on parking in Chilhowie. There are a couple larger parking spaces at the MacDonalds, reserved for trucks, which regularly come in and out. Only a few spaces. The corner turning in is narrow and has a large bolder at the edge of it.

Further, despite what the city website says, the officials and police in Chilhowie are unfriendly to visitors to the town. Residents are friendly enough, but they don’t run the town. A few drunk elites do.

There is no RV sanitary hook up in town.

You are better to stay in Marion at the Walmart and drive the four miles from the nearby street to Hungry Mother Park. The hills are steep, take your time. Access at the park is large and good.
