Rice Cakes for Ceremony and Festival Days

For all of the major Akha festivals and ceremonies sticky rice is boiled, then pounded in a large mortar until it is a sticky goo. Black seeds are added and it is shaped into cakes and dried. The cakes are a little sticky to eat but are also excellent cut up and deep fried.
