Farming Up very early each morning depending on the season, Akha men and women take off early to the fields. Farming is done on a cycle, and the work which seems overwhelming comes on a regular schedule through out the year, from clearing brush, to burning fields, to tilling the soil, seeds are sown and then the rains come and the rest of the season is spent weeding until the swing festival that marks the end of the weed work, then on to harvest. Here a bunch of workers catch a lift to the fields in a truck near the Burma border.
