What we do

Our main focus in our work with the Akha people is human rights work. Within that scope we continue to work on public relations, building awareness and helping the Akha to make connections that give them a stronger voice. Because the Akha are considered a "small" people group (600,000 in five countries) many human rights organizations ignore their plight. We work to change that.

We also work to strengthen the Akha language. One of our projects to assist this effort is the recording and preservation of oral traditions with our Akha Manuscript Project.

We invite you to become involved with specific human rights projects or with our Akha Manuscript Project.
